Very happy with the finished Blowing Rock showground map cutout! Now off to printing and organizing a good selection of products to showcase.

Possible colors, still testing...

equestrette logo

The idea for this logo was to keep it fresh, simple, graceful and graphic. I wanted to create a roundness on the top part of the letters to mimic a riding helmet, and the overall basic shape that forms both the letters and the horse's head mimic an elongated stirrup. Transparencies were used to limit the amount of detail and to use only two basic shapes to create the horse's head and all of its features.
This is the process I took for the creation of the equestrette logo. Sketches on paper first, then on to the computer to further develop the ideas and finalize the designs.

etsy treasury

My jumper print has been featured in a showjumping treasury!

I have been gone for the past few months, neglecting my artwork and missing it so so much. Between being literally away for Christmas holidays, horse shows, and just being plain busy with taxes, business paperwork, oh, and trying to set up a brand new little project (which I'm pretty excited about), I have not worked on anything that I can honestly say I'm truly happy with. I have started lots of new projects and ideas, made mock-ups and samples, but in the end it is just a bit depressing not seeing the results I expected, so I move on to the next thing. I guess I'm just in a little creative funk trying to find my way… perfect for me or I won't be happy.

hello again

We have been back for a couple of weeks now from our month vacation in Santa Cruz, Bolivia. It was very hard leaving the family, friends and nice warm weather... it was so much fun.
I've been slowly getting back on track, I'm loving on my doggies and working on tax stuff, I've cleaned the entire house, washed everything, etc. etc.
I'm excited about some small paintings that I have started working on, they will be posted very soon.
I didn't get to send out Christmas cards but made this illustration that was meant to be used for our cards.
happy holidays

packaging and collateral

I've been playing around with the design for my business cards, labels, thank you cards, packaging, etc. and so far I'm happy with the look... I could keep working on it forever, but have to stop and move on to other things.

print shipped

Matted, framed and shipped my "Guardian Angel" print, love how it looks deceivingly three dimensional. Hope it brings a smile to its new home.

my photo studio

I wasn't happy with the look of my scanned sentimentals, for some reason the quality of the lines doesn't show. The photographed versions look much better... bummer I'll have to get them reprinted.

threadless - compadres

I'm in the running for a t-shirt design on threadless with the coolest theme: "movember".

Movember challenges men to change their appearance and the face of men’s health by growing a moustache. The rules are simple, start November 1st clean-shaven and then grow a moustache for the entire month. The moustache becomes the ribbon for men’s health, the means by which awareness and funds are raised for cancers that affect men. Much like the commitment to run or walk for charity, the men of Movember commit to growing a moustache for 30 days.

Check and score my design!
